I spent over 15 years in commercial real estate development, management, and technology. I contributed to a wide variety of buildings including office, medical, industrial, historic, and multifamily.

I have a deep appreciation for every piece of land and building I worked with and was very curious about them. I wondered what made one set of historic buildings haunted and instilled chaos in most of the people that worked in them? What was behind the constant shifting, cracking, and plumbing issues in another building after performing all the recommended repairs and remediation? Why did buildings start to have major problems after one particular owner acquired them? What created some buildings to remain problematic and often vacant?

The answer, in my awareness, is simple. Buildings and land actually DO have consciousness. They have the consciousness of their own and they take in the consciousness of their inhabitants (and owners) as well! More on that here.
